Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research


Pain is not something to be seen, but something to be felt. Every single day in the life of a sickle cell patient is a dull, constant pain or a sharp ache. Every week is a hospital visit for a blood transfusion. Every life is essentially cut in half with no rhyme or reason. It’s a disease not known by all, but felt by many as the most common rare blood disease in the world. The Foundation for Sickle Cell Disease Research is the first collective effort of its kind with the sole dedication to work towards new, life-improving solutions for patients of sickle cell disease through comprehensive care. Known to affect a high population of African-Americans and Hispanics, the disease has been labeled and stereotyped because symptoms cannot be seen on the surface. That being said, their main challenge was gaining the exposure and awareness needed to raise funds for a state-of-the-art facility in South Florida. Through a deeper exploration of the nonprofit’s visual identity, we architected a rebranding program to raise donations.
